Good luck to you guys. I can't wait to see the new site.
Have you managed to catch the Sword live yet? I'm pretty sure they're on tour with Metallica and Down right now, which has gotta be a scorcher, especially with The Sword and Down on it!

Hell, even Metallica is alright now that they replaced Jason Newstead with someone way better.

No, unfortunately I've not even been able to see one of my very favorite bands, King's X, this year. Literally no time. We've plotted out the rest of the year, and each day is literally packed (not like this is any different than the rest of the year). We'll be gettin' to some live shows once our lives return to "normal".

As a former bass player (I say "former" because I've not played in about six or seven years, although my friends in my hometown always ask me if I'm still playing as though that's all I ever did), I do like the style of Trujillo. He's paid his dues with a number of other significant acts like the Black Label Society.

But in Newsted's defense, I think Metallica really hampered his style because he replaced Cliff Burton. There was a bad vibe against him in the band from the very beginning. He was literally made to play through Burton's amps! That's weird. Anyway, his playing on the last two Voivod albums (a KILLER band from Montreal that's been around forever) proves to me that he's a far better bassist than Metallica ever allowed him to be. Cheers, bro!

Yeah. That makes sense regarding Newsted. I hope they don't do similar things to Trujillo. But screw BLS. Dude was in Suicidal Tendencies! May have been hardcore flirting with thrash metal, but that's still way more legit than any modern metal band! I always thought BLS was kind of standard sounding personally. Suicidal Tendencies were actually pretty groundbreaking. His dues were more than paid by the time that band was done!

It would've been interesting to have seen Jason Newsted take a more active role in Metallica for sure, though.
As they say, "True 'dat"!
[this is good]
That was good. I think they were on the Metal Injection podcast not too long ago.
Hey, nice, thanks for the tip!
Mentioning KX made me go look at their tour schedule. I seriously hope there are more dates forthcoming... that schedule is looking pretty weak. Looks like they'll be hitting your town though, bro. For me... Bah! I am not driving to freakin' Akron.

Hey bro. I hope you guys can make it to Erie over the holidays at some point. Although we're not certain that we'll make it, we've been able to stick to our schedule so far.

I really wanted to see King's X this summer, but time and funds simply didn't permit it. I'll tell you what, I'm hoping for a Galactic Cowboys reunion and a tour with KX. Heather and I would both be there in a heartbeat!

Yo, everybody, this dude, Axeman, delivered his wife's baby by himself! Bow, everyone, bow!
